WHAT I KEEP, AND WHY

If you chuck some money at Geraldine: your name, email and payment details. Squarespace and its payment people (Stripe or PayPal) handle the money, so I never see your card. I use your details to take the donation and say thank you. I keep the records because the taxman insists.

If you email me: your email address and whatever you’ve said, so I can reply.

If you’re just having a nosy: Squarespace uses cookies and basic stats, like which pages you looked at, your browser and roughly where you are. That keeps the site working and tells me whether anyone reads past the first page. You decide which cookies you’re happy with.

WHO ELSE SEES IT

Only the ones keeping the wheels on: Squarespace (the website and donations), Stripe and PayPal (payments) and Google (email). Some of them store things outside the UK, with the proper legal safeguards.

I’m not selling your details, swapping them or spamming you. I’ve got a car to fix.

HOW LONG I KEEP IT

Donation records: as long as the law says. Emails: until they’re no use, then they’re gone.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can ask what I’ve got on you, get it corrected, get it deleted, or tell me to stop using it. Just email. If you think I’ve messed it up, you can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk). I’d rather you told me first, though.
